Back to Open Positions Java Backend Developer Java | Spring Boot | Microservices | REST & GraphQL APIs | JUnit We are looking for a Java Backend Developer to support the development and maintenance of microservices powering digital commerce products, including checkout, customer account and order processing services. You will work closely with senior engineers, follow established engineering standards, and take part in a structured upskilling programme designed to accelerate your growth. It is a strong opportunity to build experience with Java, Spring Boot, APIs, testing and identity and access management (IAM) in a modern engineering environment. Key Responsibilities

Develop and maintain Java microservices for checkout, customer account and order processing products. Implement REST and GraphQL APIs following the client’s OpenAPI standards. Write unit and integration tests and contribute to pipeline quality gates. Participate in Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups and retrospectives. Follow established coding standards, security guidelines and GitLab pull request processes. Support the integration of IAM flows (Keycloak, Okta, OIDC) with guidance from senior engineers. Take an active part in a structured upskilling programme led by experienced subject-matter experts.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

Required

1+ years of relevant experience. Strong experience with Java 8+ and Spring Boot. Hands-on experience building and maintaining microservices. Solid understanding of RESTful APIs and exposure to GraphQL. Experience writing unit and integration tests with JUnit, Mockito and Testcontainers. Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, preferably GitLab. Understanding of code quality and security tools such as SonarQube and Snyk. Exposure to IAM flows such as Keycloak, Okta or OIDC. Experience working in Agile environments. A proactive mindset and willingness to engage in continuous learning and structured upskilling.

Salary & Benefits

Gross annual salary: €20,000–€25,000, depending on experience and suitability for the role. Meal allowance. Flexible benefits package. Extra day off on your birthday.
