What are we looking for?

To reinforce our Finance team, we are looking for a Tax Technician for our office in Matosinhos.

Day-to-day:

You will be responsible for supporting the company's tax compliance, ensuring technical accuracy and adherence to current legislation.

Main responsibilities:

  • Ensure the company’s compliance with tax obligations and guarantee regulatory compliance;

  • Analyze and apply Portuguese tax legislation in terms of CIT (IRC), VAT (IVA), PIT (IRS), Stamp Duty (IS), and other taxes;

  • Monitor and interpret guidelines from the Tax Authority;

  • Provide technical support on international tax matters;

  • Participate in the monitoring of tax inspections and audits;

  • Interact with various departments within the company, providing tax support for their operations and strategic decisions.

Requirements:

  • Degree in Economics or Accounting;

  • 1 to 3 years of professional experience in similar roles;

  • In-depth knowledge of Portuguese tax legislation (CIT, VAT, PIT, Stamp Duty, etc.);

  • Knowledge of international taxation;

  • Experience in preparing and submitting tax returns (Form 22, IES, VAT return, etc.);

  • Ability to interpret rules and guidelines from the Tax Authority (circular letters, binding rulings, etc.);

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUPs, pivot tables, financial formulas);

  • Experience with accounting/tax software, particularly SAP;

  • Proficiency in using the Portuguese Tax Authority Portal (submissions, e-invoices, queries, etc.);

  • Strong sense of responsibility, confidentiality, and professional ethics;

  • Attention to detail and strong analytical skills;

  • Good time management and autonomy;

  • Strong communication skills and ability to work in a team.
