Requirements:

We are currently looking for a Senior Data Engineer with strong experience in cloud-native data solutions and Microsoft technologies to join a challenging project focused on building scalable, high-performance data platforms and analytics solutions. This opportunity is focused exclusively on Senior-level candidates and offers a future career path towards Data Product Management. We are looking for professionals who want to remain connected to the technical side of data while progressively increasing their involvement with business stakeholders, product ownership, and strategic decision-making. A genuine interest in pursuing this future transition towards Data Product Management is a mandatory requirement.

Required Competencies:

• Minimum 5 years of experience in Data Engineering, with a focus on cloud-native solutions and data architecture.
• Strong experience in end-to-end data architecture and design, including ingestion, data modelling, storage, and orchestration.
• Experience with Medallion Architecture or similar data architecture patterns.
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft cloud data technologies, particularly: Microsoft Fabric, Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse.
• Experience with other cloud platforms such as AWS or Google Cloud and equivalent data services will also be considered.
• Hands-on experience with Data Warehousing and Data Lake solutions, such as Azure Data Lake, Delta Lake, BigQuery or Amazon Redshift.
• Strong programming skills in Python, SQL and/or Spark.
• Experience with Python data libraries such as Pandas, Boto3 or similar.
• Strong knowledge of relational databases (Oracle, MS SQL Server or similar) and/or NoSQL technologies (MongoDB, Elasticsearch, GBQ or similar).
• Experience with DevOps/DataOps practices and CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience implementing data validation, lineage, documentation, and monitoring at scale.
• Ability to optimize data pipelines and storage solutions for performance, cost, and reliability.
• Genuine interest in a future career path towards Data Product Management, while remaining connected to the technical side of data.
• Interest in progressively increasing involvement with business stakeholders, product ownership, and strategic decision-making.
• English proficiency – minimum B2.

• Ability to evaluate technical trade-offs and make clear and well-supported decisions.
• Ability to communicate complex engineering decisions effectively to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Experience mentoring mid-level and junior engineers and promoting engineering standards and best practices.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to break down complex and ambiguous challenges into actionable solutions.
• Ownership mindset and ability to anticipate issues and contribute to the long-term evolution of data platforms.
• Strong collaboration and communication skills.

Location: Lisbon – Hybrid

Work Model: 2 days per week at the office and 3 days remote

Gross salary range €2.200–€2.500 gross monthly
