SAP S/4HANA ABAP Technical Consultant | Enterprise Solutions

About the role...

Responsibilities:

• Design, build, and deliver high-quality ABAP developments (reports, enhancements, user exits, BADIs) across the full project lifecycle (build, unit test, SIT/UAT support, go-live/hypercare).
• Translate functional specifications into robust technical designs, ensuring alignment with SAP standards, performance, and maintainability.
• Develop and maintain interfaces (IDocs, RFCs, BAPIs, APIs) for SAP-to-SAP and SAP-to-non-SAP integration scenarios.
• Build and enhance Forms (SmartForms / Adobe Forms) and output management solutions supporting business processes.
• Develop and optimize modern ABAP artifacts for S/4HANA, including CDS Views and exposure/consumption patterns for analytics and services.
• Support or contribute to RAP-based components and service enablement (e.g., OData/service layers), collaborating with functional and UX/Fiori teams when applicable.
• Perform debugging, root-cause analysis, and performance optimization; execute code reviews and quality assurance to ensure clean, reliable deliveries.
• Support S/4HANA transformation activities such as custom code adaptation, simplification item impact assessment, and remediation using tools like ATC / Custom Code Migration.
• Apply Clean Core and extensibility principles, advising on in-app vs. side-by-side extensions and best practices for sustainable custom development.
• Collaborate effectively with technical architects, integration teams, and cross-stream functional teams (FI, MM, SD, etc.), working autonomously while contributing to team outcomes.

You must have:

• Experience: 3 to 5 years of hands-on SAP ABAP development experience.
• Project Background: Proven experience in SAP implementation and/or transformation programs, with participation in at least 2 end-to-end SAP implementations (full lifecycle).
• Core ABAP Skills: Strong expertise in classic ABAP development (reports, enhancements, user exits, BADIs), interfaces (IDocs, RFCs, BAPIs), and SmartForms / Adobe Forms.
• S/4HANA: Mandatory exposure to SAP S/4HANA environments and understanding of S/4HANA-specific development considerations.
• Modern ABAP: Hands-on experience with CDS Views and understanding of ABAP RESTful Application Programming Model (RAP); familiarity with ABAP on SAP BTP is a plus.

You must be:

• Tooling: Experience with SAP ABAP Development Tools (ADT) in Eclipse (or equivalent compatible IDEs).
• Delivery: Ability to perform unit testing, support SIT/UAT cycles, and deliver technical solutions end-to-end with strong autonomy.
• Quality & Performance: Strong debugging skills, performance optimization experience, and exposure to code quality assurance/review practices.
• Transformation & Clean Core: Exposure to S/4HANA conversion projects (Brownfield/Shell), custom code adaptation and impact analysis using ATC / Custom Code Migration, and awareness of Clean Core/extensibility approaches.
