Principal Software Engineer, AI DevOps

Location: Lisbon, Portugal / Krakow, Poland Working Pattern: Fully Remote (Portugal); Hybrid (Poland)

Join our AI Delivery & Engineering team and provide principal-level technical leadership for AI delivery, release engineering and operational readiness. You'll help ensure reusable AI assets and enterprise solutions are reliable and reproducible.

Impact You'll Own

• Define DevOps standards for reusable AI assets and the solutions using them.
• Strengthen delivery quality through reviews of supplier pipelines, infrastructure and deployment evidence.
• Guide decisions on environment strategy, automation, reliability, security, lead time and cost.
• Improve release traceability, artifact integrity, recovery and operational readiness.
• Advance reproducible delivery through controlled promotion, versioning and policy gates.

What You'll Do

• Define standards for CI/CD, infrastructure as code, isolated environments and controlled promotion.
• Review supplier pipelines, infrastructure configurations, environment controls and deployment evidence.
• Guide partners on AI delivery patterns, automation trade-offs and approved asset reuse.
• Set expectations for version traceability across code, models, prompts, data, tools and runtime environments.
• Review artifact integrity, dependency controls, secrets management and evaluation gates.
• Assess rollback, safe fallback, recovery, observability, alerting and support handover evidence.
• Turn findings, evaluation results and incidents into improved standards and reference patterns.

Skills and Capabilities

Must-haves

• Degree in Computer Science, IT, Software Engineering or a related discipline.
• Enterprise software engineering experience in cloud-native and distributed systems.
• Hands-on enterprise AI engineering and AI release lifecycle experience.
• Deep knowledge of CI/CD, infrastructure as code, release engineering and SRE practices.
• Experience with isolated environments, promotion controls and configuration versioning.
• Knowledge of model, prompt, data, retrieval, tool, asset and runtime traceability.
• Experience with artifact integrity, secrets management, policy gates and regression evidence.
• Knowledge of AI workload observability, availability, latency, cost, SLIs and SLOs.
• Proven technical leadership through standards, reviews, supplier assurance and remediation.
• Strong communication, cross-team influence, mentoring and documentation skills.

Nice-to-have

• Advanced study in AI/ML, distributed systems or cloud/platform engineering.
