Lead Software Engineer - Edge Services

We are looking for a Lead Software Engineer with significant experience in Golang, AWS, and Kubernetes. The successful candidate will have experience with Content Delivery Networks (CDNs) and Service Mesh technologies. Additionally, familiarity with Platform Engineering, Security best practices, and AI-assisted coding tools is valuable for this role.

Job Responsibilities and Expectations:

• Ensure high availability, resiliency, quality, and efficiency of our Cloud Edge Services
• Develop tools and infrastructure to deploy, monitor, and manage production and non-production services
• Leverage AI and automation tools to improve development efficiency, infrastructure management, and incident response
• Ensure delivered solutions are optimized for quality, ease of use, reusability, and scalability
• Ensure implementations and development activities contribute to complete knowledge base documentation, testing, design details, usage, maintenance, configuration, and deployment notes
• Work comfortably within an agile framework
• Participate in a predictable, rotating week-long on-call schedule with team support and flexible shift coverage

Desired Skills and Experience:

• 5+ years of software development experience
• Proficiency with Golang and/or Python (recent experience preferred)
• 4+ years of experience in a DevOps / SRE / Platform Engineering environment
• 2+ years of experience with public cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure)
• 3+ years of experience with Kubernetes / Docker
• 2+ years of experience with Terraform
• Experience with AI-assisted development tools and practices
• Practical, collaborative approach to problem-solving and a willingness to learn
• Ability to collaborate effectively with teammates working from around the globe

Great to Have:

• Istio Service Mesh experience
• CDN experience, in particular AWS CloudFront
• Kubernetes Ingress Controller / API Gateway experience
• Kubernetes Operators
