What You’ll Do

As a KYC Agent based in Lisbon, you will conduct customer due diligence activities within the banking industry. Your role will involve verifying identities including those of the Ultimate Beneficiary Owners (UBO), assessing risks, and ensuring compliance with KYC/AML (Anti-Money Laundering) regulations. This includes reviewing documents, analyzing information to define the appropriate due diligence level, managing KYC cases, and escalating potential issues as necessary—supported by digital tools and AI-assisted workflows.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform KYC due diligence for customer onboarding and regular reviews.

• Accurately verify and review identity documents for completeness, validity, and consistency.

• Assess customer risk factors to determine necessary levels of due diligence.

• Conduct compliance checks aligned with KYC standards, regulations, and internal frameworks within the banking sector.

• Collaborate with banking technology systems and AI tools to ensure accurate case management and efficient workflows.

• Analyze, document, and structure findings for audit readiness and compliance reporting.

• Escalate compliance gaps or client risk issues as per defined escalation protocols.

• Ensure case management meets quality and deadline standards relevant to the banking sector.

What You Bring

Qualifications

Education

• Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field; or comparable relevant experience.

Language

• Proficient in English (B2 level or higher); French and/or Dutch is a plus.

Experience

• We are seeking dynamic candidates with a strong willingness to learn. Previous experience in transaction banking operations, KYC or KYR, or a comparable environment (such as a bank, corporate treasury, or shared service center) would be considered an advantage, though it is not a mandatory requirement.

Legal: Must own a valid work permit or EU/Schengen Space Nationality to legally work in Portugal.

May be required to work on Client-observed holidays and local holidays

Weekend availability may be required

Overtime may be required to meet deadlines or project needs
