Deals Tax Senior Consultant

The Deals Tax team supports clients throughout the entire transaction lifecycle, developing and implementing value-adding tax solutions. Regardless of the nature of the transaction—acquisition, disposal, merger, IPO, public-to-private transactions, corporate restructuring or debt refinancing, we work to identify tax risks and opportunities at an early stage and maximize the related cash flows.

Each project is delivered by a multidisciplinary team responsible for supporting the transaction and addressing the client's needs, particularly in relation to transaction structuring, due diligence processes, the preparation and analysis of financial models, and the tax review of sale and purchase agreements. Our work has a strong international dimension, involving Portuguese and international clients and close collaboration with teams from other areas and across the PwC network.

Responsibilities:

• Manage and oversee projects throughout the entire transaction lifecycle, ensuring high-quality deliverables, ensuring the technical quality of deliverables and compliance with agreed deadlines;
• Collaborate with clients to define and implement effective tax strategies, identifying risks and opportunities and contributing to the optimisation of the transaction structure;
• Coordinate and carry out tax structuring, due diligence, financial model analysis and reviews of the tax aspects of sale and purchase agreements;
• Prepare and review analyses, reports and presentations, ensuring technical accuracy and clear communication of conclusions;
• Maintain close relationships with Portuguese and international clients and liaise with multidisciplinary teams across the PwC network;
• Support the development of junior team members, promoting knowledge sharing and best practices.

What we're looking for:

• Bachelor's or master's degree in Management, Accounting, Economics, Law or a related field;
• At least three years of professional experience in tax consulting, transaction tax or a similar role;
• Proficiency in English;
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office tools, particularly Excel and PowerPoint;
• Strong analytical, organizational and problem-solving skills, with a high sense of responsibility, autonomy and initiative;
• Team spirit, coordination skills, and excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
