Construction Manager

Roles and Responsibilities

• Adherence to and promotion of company safety and quality policies.
• Onsite co-ordination between mechanical and other disciplines.
• Monitoring and delivering of project construction schedule.
• Attending on-site co-ordination meetings with client.
• Co-ordinating and monitoring labour and plant requirements with site supervisors.
• Supervision of project sub-contractors.
• Reporting directly to the project manager on all aspects of the project.
• Working closely with site engineers and safety officers to achieve project goals.
• Closely monitoring labour loading at all times to ensure that all costs are minimized.
• Ensuring that all project variations are recorded for the project QS.

Requirements

• Have a minimum of 10 years’ experience working on mechanical projects in the pharmaceutical or oil and gas industries.
• Ideally the candidate would be a time served fitter or would possess a mechanical engineering qualification.
• Have an excellent understanding of piping isometric and general arrangement drawings.
• Possess exceptionally good organisational skills with good time management ability, working to deadlines / prioritising.
• Self-starter who is committed to achieve an excellent standard of work.
• An orderly systematic approach to problem solving will be a prerequisite for carrying out this role.
• Strong team player with ability to interact with clients and colleagues at all levels.
