What We Are Looking For

We are looking for an Application Production Support Engineer to join an international project within the financial services sector. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the stability, availability, and performance of critical business applications. You will work closely with business and technical teams to provide support, troubleshoot incidents, automate operational processes, and contribute to the continuous improvement of application support services. This is an excellent opportunity for professionals with a strong technical background in production support, databases, scripting, and infrastructure environments who enjoy solving complex problems and working in a fast-paced, international environment.

What You Will Do on a Daily Basis

• Support the business in their IT needs and understand the business workflows and scenarios.
• Maintaining a proper coverage in their designated shift.
• Voluntarily picking up work and tasks as received over email, tickets or in person.
• Provide business, team members and other project/task partnering teams updates on the issue/task/project.
• Documenting and training other team members.
• Shadow other team members and seek to learn to improve day to day coverage of the platforms.
• Sharing knowledge within the team as well documenting the issues/incidents for better follow up.
• Improving day to day tasks by writing scripts and automate tasks that are procedure oriented.
• Understand the underlying issue and the associated patch fix/release and identify systemic issue.
• Availability to work during Holidays / Weekends as per pre-defined needs and on a rotational basis with the rest of the team.

Your Main Qualifications

• Previous experience in Application Support, Production Support, or similar technical support roles.
• Strong knowledge of Oracle SQL.
• Experience working with Windows and Linux environments.
• Knowledge of scripting languages for automation and operational improvements.
• Understanding of application monitoring and incident management processes.
• Knowledge of Unix environments is considered a plus.
• Experience with Ansible and DevOps practices is considered a plus.
• Familiarity with ITIL principles and service management frameworks is considered a plus.
• Fluency in English.
